Aspirin's role

Since the 1973 research conducted by Dr. Folts that led to aspirin therapy. Aspirin has provided a means of inhibiting the activity of blood platelets.  It helps to discourage the forming of clots by reducing their stickiness and allows blood to flow better  in narrowed arteries.  Aspirin has been used as a method to slow the  rate that one gets atherosclerosis.  The result of this is that aspirin can decrease the likelihood of a heart attack.
The problem with aspirin is it stops working if you have stress in your life.  Stress causes adrenaline and adrenaline causes aspirin's platelet inhibition to virtually disappear. If you are an athlete or you exercise adrenaline will be present and will leave you virtual unprotected.  Other problems with aspirin are stomach and intestinal irritation and bleeding, ulcers and high blood pressure.  Some people cannot take aspirin (pregnant or nursing and allergic reaction).  Aspirin does not  provide any protection for fighting LDL cholesterol oxidation.
New information aspirin "not a cure-all".
